Our Health and Safety Policy ensures that staff, clients, and participants feel protected, whether attending training in person or engaging through partner venues. By assessing risk, maintaining clear procedures, and responding to concerns quickly, we safeguard wellbeing and create conditions where learning can flourish. This reflects our mission to deliver professional education responsibly and our vision of a secure, trusted academy.

Definitions

  • Company: means Nicholas Hill Academy Ltd of which company number 6613294
  • Staff: means an employee or representative of the Company
  • Client: means a Company client or a user of the Products
  • Participant:  means a participant of Company courses, programmes, workshops, seminars, keynotes
  • Contractor: means a supplier of external products or services
  • Product:  means a Company product or service supplied, including those chargeable, complimentary, digital, and physical

Purpose

The Health and Safety at Work Act protects employees, customers, and visitors. Health and safety measures ensure organisations safeguard their workers’ mental and physical well-being. A safe work environment reduces injuries and accidents, resulting in lower healthcare costs, improved team retention and reduced sick days. Consequently, the Company prioritises the health and safety of Staff, Clients, Participants, and Contractors and upholds this policy through communicating and implementing necessary procedures.

The Company is committed to the following:

  • Providing a safe place for working and learning
  • Providing secure systems of working and learning
  • Providing supervised training and instruction
  • Providing and maintaining safe equipment
  • Providing health and safety inductions when required
  • Providing materials that are stored, handled, and transported safely
  • Providing measures to prevent accidents

Responsibilities

The Company managing director is responsible for implementing health and safety measures. However, Staff, Clients, Participants, and Contractors are responsible for their personal health and safety, including following applicable guidelines and reporting any concerns to the Company.

Arrangements

Before attending courses, workshops, coaching, and keynotes, the Company emails Clients and Participants with standard health and safety guidance. Staff, Clients, Participants, and Contractors can also request health and safety inductions by email, telephone, or virtual meeting if required.

Risk

Before launching Products, the Company carries out risk assessments. The Company will address hazards, eliminate risk, or reduce to an acceptable level.

First Aid

If the Company books Product venues, it will ensure landlords make adequate first aid resources available. If the Client books Product venues, they will ensure adequate first aid resources are available.

Accidents

The Company and involved parties must record all accidents. The Company will investigate accidents to prevent recurrence and ensure Staff, Clients, Participants, and Contractors practise safe working and learning practices.

Emergencies

If the Company books Product venues, it will ensure landlords have conducted fire risk assessments and have signed escape routes. The Company will insist that landlords have evacuation plans and perform them periodically as necessary.
