Our Environmental Policy outlines practical steps to reduce waste, conserve resources, and operate sustainably. By promoting ecological awareness across our team and encouraging Clients, Participants, and Contractors to do the same, we contribute to positive social impact. This reflects our values of responsibility and respect, and supports our vision of a modern, forward-thinking academy that acts ethically in both business and society.

Definitions

  • Company: means Nicholas Hill Academy Ltd of which company number 6613294
  • Staff:  means an employee or representative of the Company
  • Client:  means a Company client or a user of the Products
  • Participant: means a participant of Company courses, programmes, workshops, seminars, keynotes
  • Contractor:  means a supplier of external products or services
  • Product: means a Company product or service supplied, including those chargeable, complimentary, digital, and physical

Purpose

The Company is aware of an organisation’s impact on the environment, the consequences of climate change, and the need to eventually become carbon net zero. This policy declares the Company’s commitment to continual environmental awareness and improvement. Such organisational improvements include reducing waste, minimising consumption, and improving efficiency.

Legislation

Nicholas Hill Academy Ltd recognises that its environmental responsibilities extend beyond law and regulatory obligations. As an integral component of its business strategy and working methodologies, the Company commits to reducing its environmental impact and improving ecological awareness continually. The Company encourages Staff, Clients, Participants, Contractors, and other partners to do the same.

Responsibility

The managing director is accountable for implementing this environmental policy. However, Staff, Clients, Participants, and Contractors are responsible for implementing ecological action outside the Company.

Society

The Company will make every effort to:

  • Improve environmental efficiency.
  • Minimise environmental impact.

Consumption

The Company will make every effort to:

  • Reduce the amount of paper used.
  • Reduce the amount of packaging used.

Purchase biodegradable and recyclable goods.

Recycling

The Company will make every effort to:

  • Recycle drink cans.
  • Recycle food tins.
  • Recycle aerosols.
  • Recycle biscuit tins and lids.
  • Recycle aluminium foil.
  • Recycle puree tubes.
  • Recycle plastic bottles.

Energy

The Company will make every effort to:

  • Reduce the use of gas, oil, and electricity.
  • Reduce all energy consumption.
  • When not in use, turn off electrical devices.
  • Reduce the use of hot water.

Equipment

The Company will make every effort to:

  • Replace equipment only when necessary.
  • Favour more ecologically friendly and efficient goods.
  • Reuse and repurpose workplace equipment.

Transportation

The Company will make every effort to:

  • Limit travel to only necessary journeys.
  • Reduce physical meetings.
  • Increase virtual meetings.
  • Continually add virtual Products to its business portfolio.
