Nicholas Hill Academy Ltd champions fairness, dignity, and opportunity for every Client, Participant, and member of Staff. Our Equality and Diversity Policy protects people from discrimination and promotes inclusion across all Products and learning environments. By welcoming diverse perspectives and removing barriers to participation, we strengthen the quality of our education and uphold our vision of a respectful academy where everyone can thrive, contribute, and achieve their full potential.

Definitions

  • Company: means Nicholas Hill Academy Ltd of which company number 6613294
  • Staff: means an employee or representative of the Company
  • Client: means a Company client or a user of the Products
  • Participant: means a participant of Company courses, programmes, workshops, seminars, keynotes
  • Contractor: means a supplier of external products or services
  • Product: means a Company product or service supplied, including those chargeable, complimentary, digital, and physical

Purpose

The Company popularises civil rights and is committed to a policy allowing clients equal access and opportunity when using its Products. This act of fairness is regardless of age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy, maternity, ethnicity, creed, sexual orientation, political standing, or cultural practices. This act fully satisfies the requirements of the Equality Act as they pertain to secondary and postsecondary education.

Civil Rights

Discrimination is illegal based on age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy, maternity, ethnicity, creed, or sexual orientation. Moreover, the Company endorses the civil rights movement and actively promotes equality and diversity in all aspects of its Products. It strives to create a setting where Clients, Participants, and Staff can realise their maximum potential. The Company intends to eliminate discrimination through a zero-tolerance policy, regular goal-setting, and Product development.

Commitment

When feasible, the Company gathers and monitors Client information to identify trends, contributing to the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) with suggestions to improve equal opportunities. The Company recognises and appreciates the diversity of its workforce. The Company benefits from recruiting Staff and Contractors with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, enabling it to meet various Client needs and cultivate favourable relationships.

The Company strives to provide a positive working and learning environment without discrimination, harassment, or victimisation. The Company is committed to treating all Clients, Participants, and Staff fairly and equally, regardless of their characteristics. The Company imposes no unreasonable requirements or conditions that could disadvantage someone on discriminatory grounds. The Company strives to eliminate discrimination by establishing a working and learning environment based on good relations, equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion.

Procedures

The Company is committed to the following:

  • Fostering a positive, inclusive culture in which issues of stereotyping and discrimination can be openly discussed, with a shared commitment to addressing and preventing discrimination.
  • Eliminating explicit and implicit discrimination and promoting equal access to Products and facilities.
  • Compliance with applicable laws and authorised codes of conduct on equal opportunity and diversity.
  • Providing Clients and Participants with equal consideration and without discrimination during Product diagnostic assessments.
  • Addressing and preventing harassment or victimisation and treating such incidents as grievous infractions under the disciplinary procedure.
  • Encouraging Clients, Participants, and Staff who believe they have been discriminated against to refer to the Company’s complaints policy.
  • Satisfying the requirements of the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), ensuring that all Products are accessible to all community members.
  • Treating all Clients, Participants, and Staff individually and making appropriate accommodations for those with special needs so they are not disadvantaged.
  • Developing Products that employ inclusive language and diverse images.
  • Removing discriminatory barriers that might prevent Participants from completing courses, programmes, workshops, or keynotes successfully.
  • Promoting equality of opportunity regardless of age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy, maternity, ethnicity, creed, sexual orientation, political standing, or cultural practices.

Responsibility

While the Company managing director is responsible for implementing this policy, all stakeholders must collectively contribute to the policy’s successful implementation. Therefore, the Company requires all Clients, Participants, Staff, and Contractors to adopt this policy when collaborating.
